If closing a can, press the lid back into place and seal tightly using a rubber mallet, or the heel of your palm. If closing a pouch, twist the cap until it can't twist any further. If you're planning to store your unused paint for a longer period, use plastic food wrap under the lid or cap to prevent any air from entering. Once sealed tightly, store the paint in a cool, dry place and it should keep for at least a year – leaving you lots of time to think about more things to paint!
